Welcome to the third module of InfoReady, where we’ll continue our journey towards unfolding the complex world of information and the news.
In a rapidly evolving digital landscape inundated with misinformation, disinformation, and fake news, the ability to discern truth from falsehood has become an indispensable skill. Module 3 is designed to equip learners with the essential tools and knowledge necessary to navigate this complex terrain effectively.
The objective is clear: to empower individuals to combat misinformation effectively. Throughout this module, we’ll delve into the core principles of source evaluation, digital forensics, fact-checking, and the platforms and tools designed to recognizes fake news.
Underpinning these topics, we’ll become aware of the core knowledge, skills, and attitudes necessary for effective engagement, in order to understand the criteria to measure credibility of information, become familiar with techniques for verifying digital content authenticity, and extend our understanding of fundamental fact-checking principles and our awareness of platforms and tools designed to combat fake news.

This module focuses on introducing learners to the skills they need to develop to combat misinformation, disinformation, mal-information and fake news. Additionally, it presents examples of plaforms and tools that contribute to recognizing fake news.
ACTIVITY REQUIREMENTS:
In order to make the most of this module, the learner should go through all the activities. In case they get a wrong answer, the explanation of the question will appear below. It is important that the questions reflect the content of the training material.
- The branching scenario content type allowing users to follow the training content interactively.
- Wrong answers will indicate the correct answer and explanation below.
- The content may be based on a wide selection of other H5P content types: Course Presentation, Text, Image, Image Hotspots, Video
- The score will appear on the end screen based on the points collected through the learner's path in the activities.
